Welcome LJ Fishing to the My Bait Shop Team!
We are excited to welcome LJ Fishing to the My Bait Shop Team! LJ Fishing will be part of our Pro Fisherman Partners as we support them on the 2019 tournament trail.
LJ Fishing, Larry Patterson and John Holtz, is a bass fishing team on the Kansas tournament trail. They finished in the top 15 of the East Kansas Bassmasters in 2018 and were 10th place in 2017 for Rookie Team of the year on the Kansas Team Trail. As we mentioned we are very excited to be partnering with them throughout the entire 2019 campaign. We will follow them on the trail, see live updates, publish results, get some great fishing tips and some guest blog posts. We asked Larry and John to introduce themselves to all of the My Bait Shop followers.

I'm a 69 year old, who's married to a great woman that loves the great outdoors as much as I do.
We have raised our kids and grandkids to enjoys what natures has to offer. I grew up hunting & fishing in Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri. I was taught how to hunt and fish by my Dad and Grandpa and the love of fishing became my passion. I spent my summer months growing up in Arkansas floating and fishing the White River for Trout and fishing the creeks for Bass.
I bought my first Ranger Tri Hull Bass Boat in 1982 and I got the bug to try tournament fishing and have loved the competition since.
I fished the early Redman Buddy Tournaments and eventually began fishing some of the Solo tournaments.
Raising three kids and their activities, plus work, took me away from tournament fishing (but not fishing) for several years.
After retiring from AT&T in 2012 with 38 yrs of service, I was able to once again return to the competitiveness of Tournament fishing. Since that time I have been able to do a couple of years fishing solo tournaments and the past two years have fished the Team circuits with John Holtz and helped to found LJ Fishing.

I am a 36 year old bass junkie from the start of life to the end. I was raised on a small walnut grove in NE Kansas that had a big pond with big bass. My parents, uncle, and cousins all encouraged my fishing passion. I was very fortunate to basically grow up on Table Rock Lake in Southern Missouri as family friends owned a resort on the lake.
In my adult life I have been absolutely eaten up by tournament bass fishing. I started out with a few local club tournaments, then moved on to local Thursday night jackpot tourneys. With a little more success felt in each series I began searching for more competitive events.
At about that time in my life I married the woman of my dreams, as she shared my dreams as well. We have a 3 year old son that is the light of our life (Daddy might have already given him the fishing bug too). I am a teacher, by both passion and necessity. I teach ancient world history to 6th Graders at Monticello Trails Middle School, and also act as MTMS Fishing Club Coach.
As co-founder of LJ Fishing Larry and myself recognize that we fish for a purpose and a passion. We are both proud Americans who realize we get to fish because of the Armed Forces that keep us free, and the first responders who keep us safe. We carry them, and all our fine sponsors with us everywhere we go. We could not be more proud to be a part of the My Bait Shop family!
Please help us welcome Larry and John to the My Bait Shop family. Can't wait to see the bass pictures once the season starts. Wishing them all the best on the 2019 circuit.
